Anyone transport on west coast

i just purchased a mag-hytec double deep transmission oil pan, but i have not installed it jet , got a question. the oil pan comes with a oil filter and

a spacer, the spacer supposed to screw to the trans valve body and then the oil filter to the spacer , but the spacer does not come with a seal or "O"

ring. the oil filter does. i called the sales rep. at mag-hytec-he said thats

the way is supposed to be, he said it supposed to work. the way i look at

it the spacer and the trans body is metal to metal how is that going to create a seal ?. any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Yes that is correct. You attach the spacer where the OEM filter screws are. It extends the filter down further into the transmission fluid (because of the double deep pan).

It seals well enough, machined surface to machined surface.

Never had a problem with mine. I do check the mounting screws whe I drop the pan (DTT every 12k). Never found them loose in 30k miles.

I had the same concern before installing mine. But once you see it, it makes a lot more sense. Very easy install (I had it up on a lift).
