I pull a 30ft. race car trailer. When loaded it is over 10,000lbs. with all the stuff in this thing such as: roof mounted air/heater, upper and lower cabinets, Lista tool box, fridge, 7,000 watt generator, air compressor, plus race car, spare wheels and tires, plus spare parts etc. ( see pic )

The diff. covers allow ease in change of fluid plus they add extra fluid capacity that can't hurt. My rear now has 8qts. of Red Line and my front just under 4 qts. of Red Line. I also just added the deep trans. pan this weekend(see pic). I don't mind throwing coin at any of my vehicles, plus I'm not married and have never been. So I don't have to explain to any boss about it :D

Your mention of extra fluid reminded me of something. Years ago, I remember a problem using aftermarket covers on some brand of rear diff. I think it may have been some kind of Chevy. Apparently, these were a huge problem (obviously the Mag-Hytecs are not known to cause problems). The conclusion at that time was the fluid dynamics caused by that cover did wierd things, and as a result of the apparent poor lubrication, rear diffs were going bad. I wonder if the added fluid makes up for the change in dynamics. Who knows?

I think there were issues with the Buick grand national rear ends regarding different covers.

I would be interesting to know how Mag-Hytec determined the level of the oil should be so much higher than AAM.

My buddy has the Mag-Hytec on the rear of his '03 Ram 2500 for about a year now. So fare no problems and he tows with his truck a lot. Believe me if he had problems I would have never bought it.
