Thanks, TDR Staff

Dr Performance??

selectable locker

they both are made of aluminum

they both increase capacity by 4 quarts

mag hytec costs approx twice as much (265vs136)

is it worth the difference?

if so please explain why

thanks

I have the B&M pan, only increased capacity by 2 quarts. No problems, no complaints...

I used a really good gloss black paint to coat the outside of the pan.

Don't just limit your choice to the B&M or MagHyTech, there are several more to choose from. Mopar performance parts has a couple if you want to say MOPAR ? TCI has one, Trick Flow, ect.

PML part number 9393 claims that it increases capacity by 2 qts. Is this true with all the trannies that they list this pan for? They show it for a 727, 518, 46RH, 46RE, 47RH, 47RE and 48RE. I thought the stock transmission capacity changed at some point. It also claims that you use the same filter w/o an extension. Is this true?

QUESTION:

WHAT ABOUT THE DIP-STICK SINCE THE PAN IS DEEPER HOW DO

YOU CHECK THE OIL LEVEL I DID NOT SEE ANYWHERE WERE IT

SAYS: COMES WITH NEW DIP-STICK. IS IT A STUPID QUESTION

OR NOT.

My take on the dipstick is that you use the factory one. The idea is to increase capacity by making the pan deeper. If you were to reduce the amount of fluid to get to the "full" mark, you would not be getting the benefit of a deeper pan.

Use the same dipstick, the sump will be deeper for cooler fluid and less chance of cavitation.

I'm sure someone will let you know if I am wrong!
