I have a 2006 with 6 speed trans, I believe that I need the 11. 5 cover, also what are most running for lub, LE or Amsoil? Thank You:)

Jack,

The cover I picked up was specific for the Dodge 11. 5 AAM axle. I got it from Geno's Garage. I believe that the GM version does not use the bottom hole and creates some sealing problems for the Dodge application. Mine was no problem.

I use Amsoil severe gear 75W110 sort of as a tweener between the 75W90 recoomended from factory and the 75W140 used by many in the heavier towing applications.

I purchased mine from Genos as well... . and if I recall, the bottom hole is not used.

JPul,

Can you do me a favor and check how many bolt heads you have on your cover? I'd be surprised if there were two different versions for the Dodge/GM if there are, I guess I got the GM version.

I'm currently running Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90, and it works very well. I'll be switching to Amsoil Severre Gear 75W-140, as i'm pulling a travel trailer in the summer now when the family and i go camping.

Scooby,

Mine has only 12 bolts. No bolt at the top or bottom. The bottom is where the drain plug is located. I believe that the original issue was that GM did not use the bottom bolt in the stock location but Dodge did use the bottom bolt. The original cover had the O-ring groove set-up for the GM application which meant that the groove went through the middle of the bottom hole when used on the Dodge application. My cover has the groove relocated to clear the bottom screw hole and it is entirely possible that a similar arrangement could be used on the GM with no problems which means that 1 cover could do both. I agree that it is not likely that 2 different covers are available.
