I am considering changing to a Mag Hytec when I do my first rear end fluid service. I have heard that sometimes there is a clearance issue with the spare tire. Has anyone had this issue?
I lowered my spare a little and then reposition the tire. I moved the spare tire over to the left hand side and all the way towards the rear of the truck. This was required to miss the Mag-Hytec cover and the 5" TBE that I installed on the truck.
Ditto what Jim W said, just lowered mine and repositioned it rearward, tho didn't think to go left also, good idea! BTW have been running mine this way for over a year, tire stays put.
When my son had Dad install his Dad did the dirty work ( if thats dirty then Ive been in hell ) and got out from under the truck and told him to replace the tire. He came in and said that I must have done something wrong the tire wont fit. Went out and looked and told him to turn the spare over and try it again. I STILL WONDER IF HE'S REALLY MINE. But I love him anyway. Son if you read this dont tell Mom it's cold in the barn with the Mule's LOVE DAD
