Magnaflow or Allied?

Hey Guys,I've been in contact with Rip about a 4" exhaust. You guys are right,what a nice guy! I told him I wanted to run 4" to a muffler and then split it into two 3 in. dual tail pipes. Everything was a go until he looked at a friends QC,SB ( like mine) and decided there was not enough clearance on the left (drivers) side to run the pipe between the fuel tank and the axle/diff. So I asked about just going with a single 4" and Rip pointed me to the Summit racing 295. 00 special like is being discussed in another thread! I couldnt believe what a "straight shooter" Rip is! This guy wont take my money... But I'm not giving up! lol. I've decided to go back with my "dual" exhaust idea,and remove my spare to make room for the tailpipes. I have a hard bed cover so I can put my spare there. Rip said I can either run 4" into a magnaflow muffler or an Allied muffler. So my question is (Yes,I have one) Which one produces the best sound? I know the Allied is quieter. . but which one sounds "deeper" or best while still being tolerable. Also,will the dual pipes make any difference in sound? Any insight is appreciated,and sorry so long!

He and I upgraded my Banks stainless steel Monster Exhaust System this past summer with the deletion of the Dynaflow muffler and the addition of two, count 'em, two MagnaFlow stainless steel replacements (at my request... NO sales pressure from Rip). I used one 24" and one 14" muffler to achieve the sound level and aesthetics I'd been looking for (visual as well as auditory). The 5" diameter polished stainless steel MagnaFlow exhaust tip was added as the crowning glory of the "perfect" exhaust system.

I have the very system you describe... ... . my pipes come off a custom Y from the 4" to two 3"... ... they cross over the rearend side by side about 1. 5" apart... ... and the drivers side pipe then turns up high and crosses in front of the spare tire then goes around it between it and the shock... ... It was easy. Dont know about short beds or non-quad cabs but on my LWB quad-cab it was a simple thing to do... ... .



Next time I have it on the rack (probably next weekend) I will take some pics... ... . Its not purty but it gets the job done... ... and the spare was not a problem.

Looks pretty good for a farm truck too, the one Magnaflow I heard was not as loud as the Allied at idle, but they both sound sweet WOT.

Can anyone compare the sound of the Allied to the one Bully Dog uses (Auto Jet I think)???
