This is true bit it should only be present in very small quantities in a cast iron head. Not enough to worry about when machining, unless I'm missing something?
Worried about using a Coolant Surfactant (additive) from Racing - like "Water Wetter" or Chill Out" which should not be used with Mag heads? These are great products in our summer heat for controlling coolant overheating, if uasble. (See thread on 24v Eng & Trans Section).
That will not be a problem with your cast iron head. I had a bad experience with a similar product slimeing my coolant system and pluggin my heater core however. Needless to say I am not a fan.
