Has anyone had their magnet start falling apart on their engine oil drain plug? I changed my truck oil today and found the magnet had started cracking and falling apart in my engine. I had all the pieces there on the magnet none had gone into or through the engine as far as I know. This magnet was purchased just a oil or two changes ago due to it having a magnet on the end of it. I believe I purchased it from Geno's and I have sent pictures and notified them about this. #ad

My guess is that the plug was dropped at some point and the magnet damaged.

So in your opinion your saying I'm careless with my oil changes. That's BS and a cop-out on your part. When I called Geno's I was told that they have had a few bad magnetic oil plug's such as the magnet coming competely off.

Whoa thar! He never said you were careless. Its easy to see that if dropping in fact did damage the magnet, it could have happened in any number of ways... at the factory, during shipping, at Geno's, during shipping, and yes, even you could have dropped it. Heck, I've dropped my stock plug several times. But he wasn't being accusatory.

Glad you called and found out they've had some bad batches. I am sure Geno's will make it right, yes? Take a chill, man.

Magnet deteriation

Bellyscrapper. First let me apologize for the delay in responding to your post. We are at May Madness now and I was caught up in all the "doings" so I didn't check the forum like I usually do.

As the manfacturer of the above mendioned plug, let me assure you the problem you have experienced with the magnet on our plug is not a common occurence. We have received no complaints from other customers about this and have not experienced this with our plug that we used on our own 1996 Dodge. That said, we need to take care of your situation. If you will contact me at 941-416-0918 9 am to 10 pm pacific time, I will take all of your information and will gladly send you a replacement plug at no charge.

For your peace of mine, the chipping that unfortunately occured on your magnet will not go into or through the engine. It will either stick to the magnet or flow out with the oil when the plug is removed.

We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and I want to turn your unhappy experience with our plug into a positive one.

I have also spoken to Robin at Geno's Garage about this matter.

Thank you, Diana

Bellscraper. Thank you for your post. I pride myself on customer satisfaction and I know that Robin at Geno's Garage feels the same way.

Again I am sorry for your problem but hopefully we have made you a satisfied customer. Happy Memorial Day!! Diana
