Just wondering...

Is my rear bumper magnetized? I ask because I got rear-ended AGAIN! Sitting still in traffic and BOOM! 2nd time in less than 6 months!!! No damage this time, $2500 last time...

Why do people not see this in front of them???!!!

At least the trailer hitch gives back a little... Usually a good hole in the radiator is left for the offender, but I think I may need to replace it soon due to the abuse it's getting...

You gotta wonder what it is people are looking at that destracts them from the massive machine bearing down on them.

My wife has an 84 Honda and believe it or not, she got rear ended 3 times with the car, all at the same intersection/ stop sign. THe first time the body shop fixed, the last tow time, I fixed it.

davidclark,

I would file with the other guy's insurance anyway, assuming they had any. Even if there's no visible damage, your receiver isn't made to take a shock like that.

How do you know they didn't put a hairline crack in it? No fun figuring that one out as your trailer is heading for the ditch... or even worse, oncoming traffic!

Jus food for thought.

Might have something to do with the color of your truck... I was rearended twice in the first month I had my truck... luckily by cars that just hit the hitch. Did a # on their grills though.

I see the problem in your signature. AUSTIN drivers are either stoned or lost in thought, either way they drive stupid. LOL

I think having a hitch is a deterent. Something about the guy behind you thinking that if he hits you it will destroy his radiator and cause you almost no damage. .

well there is a chance your driving style may make it easier for the other guy to hit you. no offense i have no idea how you drive but i have spent the better part of 15 years in LA traffic. one thing i have learned is to stop slowly abrupt breaking usually catches people off guard. not to mention the guy tailgating you can not see around you. the problem with stopping slowly is you will be cut off. man that gets me the most! but thank GOD i have yet to be rear ended. I have been bumped but no damage. apparently the lady was having some problems applying her makeup.

David...

Since you are in the Austin area, you might want to check out the bumpers at www.southtexasoutfitters.com ... I got mine there in January, and they are STOUT !!... I call my front bumper my 'hit a deer at 80mph and clean it off with a hose bumper'. .

I once got rear ended in my 95 PS by a guy in a mid 80's Olds, when I was sitting behind a stopped school bus with all its lights going... . DUH ????. . totalled his car. . found a little scratch on mine...

Yeah, I was once a bad driver, but I have changed my style 100%, I'm the guy that goes the speed limit now, just cruising along in the CTD!

in the last three rear-enders, twice I was at a complete stop for at least a minute, the moving time was when someone decided to stop from 50 MPH to let a vehicle into traffic... Everyone but the guy behind me managed to stop in time... I used to be the bad driver, so maybe it's just payback now that I'm older...

I'd like a BIG stout bumper, but prefer stainless steel to match the step bars... Hard to find and pricey with that requirement...

The day someone rear ends me with the boat in tow is the day I lose it on the side of the road... Bulldawg is right, people in Austin drive like crap, and that includes the people that enforce the traffic laws!!!

the reflection in the picture yes. 105lbs female and all mush but you would never know it when you came to the door :)
