Two weeks ago I had a rebuilt DTT trans installed. I believe my original unit lost the front clutch pack. Last fall, I installed the Mopar performance trans pan. I noticed it has no magnet to collect metal particles. Should I install a magnet to protect my new trans, or can the filter be relied upon to catch this "dust". Even without the magnet, I would always find a quarter sized blob of clay-like metal particles stuck to the bottom of the pan. I had to peel it off, then clean out the pan before reinstalling.

We used to epoxy magnets to the TCI aluminum trans pans in customers cars. Any epoxy that is solvent proof would work fine. The way i look at is, it may not help your trannie in any way, but it ceratinly wont hurt it
