I put my Rip's on a few months back, along with a BHAF and removing the silencer ring. I installed the muffler backwards and left the cat off. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to stick it back on for SMOG:{ . Dang smog nazis! Installing wasn't too bad; would have been nicer to have a heated garage! I still roll the window down while passing the sound wall on the way to work. Sounds great, even when 10* out.

Has anyone had their Rip's exhaust on for a while that lives in the Midwest salt belt. Just wondering how they hold up and how they look after one winter's use.

I am going to go with Ripp's 4", w/muffler to start. I will be doing alot of towing this upcoming race season and not sure if the wonderful music of "mufflerless" will become a bit overwhelming on long hauls. If Ripp's is not loud enough or enough turbo whitsle at idle then time for a "Pipe".

Just installed Rip's 4 inch exhaust tonight. Took about 2. 5 hours to get everything to hang correct. Still not happy with the tailpipe but was running out of time. Sounds great, will be keeping the muffler on for sure. Also recommend spending the extra cash for the band clamps, well worth the money. Only thing now is a unfinished 5 inch tip cause I dont like chrome.

Get a 4" downpipe, and build the rest your self. All you need is a 4" to 5" adapter. 7' 5" 10g pipe, 2+ 45deg 5" elbow, 1 90deg 5"elbow, and some 5" clamps that you can turn into hangers. A tip is optional. You can do this for around $150 (W/O tip).

Rip system in the Midwest

Jeepit, Funny you should ask, I have a Rip system and have lived in Wisconsin for 2 years now, the system has held up great. I bought some POR20 paint for added protection that I will put on when the weather changes.
