Magnum headache racks

I just happened to see a Magnum rack on the back of an F350 the other day and thought it looked very good. Has anyone had any experience with them? I've been doing some searching around the ol' Interwebs and most things sound positive regarding build quality. Figured I'd ask around here.

Kind of spendy, but they're aluminum and look good. Always thought I'd like one on my truck, admittedly, because I just like the look.

I even found a pic of one on a truck that looks identical to mine. What are the odds, given my rare breed of RC, LB!

Thoughts on these racks?

I like trucks with headache racks... had them on 4 of the 6 Rams I owned....and the last 2 were C&Cs with built in headache racks on the tow bodies.

They have dabbled in headache racks for Class 8 trucks, I have a few in stock at my Bangor location.

A Maine based company so most car and truck dealers in the state are supporting and promoting their product line. Good stuff from what I’ve seen.

I’ve put a Back Rack headache rack on every truck I’ve ever had. I use them to secure loads to all the time. They also prevent fourwheelers from blowing out the back window.
I really like the looks of the one you posted.

Thanks for the replies. I am really thinking about getting one. I always liked the Back Rack as well. When i saw this one, something about it just grabbed me.

They seem to be relatively new... sounds like a good reputation with truck bodies.

They make a model that is open in the center for a rear sliding window like I have. Any thoughts on covering the sliding window? I rarely ever open it but soon as you cover it with a rack.....well, we all know how that goes.

I have always liked the look.

Do they whistle at interstate speeds?

Can the cargo camera see underneath it?

I have a canvas canopy I used very infrequently. If the wiring harness is plug and play it may be worth the time to remove the rack when I need to use the canopy.

I too have the rear slider. In the past I didn't find them overly useful on a CC/QC pickup as you couldn't open them while driving. With the new ones being electric I open it quite often for airflow. I don't really think that the rack would have any effect on it. I don't plan to every load anything thru the opening so blocking it with a rack wouldn't bother me at all.

I personally like louvers protecting sliding glass window from cargo and thieves... real big in Texas thieves kicking out the window to get access inside. I wouldn't fit though.

Ron, that '93 is PROPER! Extended cab, long bed. You still have it??!!?? Sweet looking truck. I'm 43 years old and trucks from the 90's are the ones I now drool over. Just the Dodge and Ford's though...bow ties are for little boys.

When you say canopy, are you referring to the kind that look like a regular truck cap...just a soft version?

I use a soft, tri-fold top cover and they make a model that allows them to be used.

Great question about the bed camera. Unfortunately, it looks like the camera would be covered if it's up in the brake light. Worth a call to ask them, though. I didn't see any mention about that on their website.

No, don't have any of them anymore. They were all great trucks. You may want a grill guard too... we have smaller deer here in TX, but they like to take out the grill and radiator of a truck. I had grill guards on them too:
