It has reverse in the upper right corner, so that makes it the G56 right? I know I saw a thread on the placement of reverse, but I can't find it to check... i hate when I do that!

That's the NV5600!

Now check to see if it has the limited edition plastic ends on the IC.

Well I have good news or bad news depending on how you look at it. Went to the dealer talked about ordering a new 06, when they came back saying that the best they could do was 37k on a stripped down SLT, we left, but they had a really nice 05 3500 SRW with a stick! Wife wouldn't get out when we finished the test drive! Ended up taking it home... it looked lonely on the lot :-laf

So here's the stat's on the new truck:

2005 3500 Quad Cab 4x4 Long Box SRW 610 CTD 6spd 3. 73 Laramie 13k Bright Silver

Barleysoda, you said something about the reflash to fix the mileage. I know the the computers are not famous for being very accurate, but the computer on this truck is hovering at 14. 3 mpg... that's WAY to low for me! I know they had pulled off oversize tires before they put it on the lot, but I wouldn't think that tires would drop the mileage that much... If it turns out that this is really getting as bad as mileage as it looks can you tell me what exactly I need to tell them when I take it in? Is there a TSB for it?

Anyway, thanks to all who offered opinions! I'm off to update my signature!

I just noticed your close by!!!! go back to the dealership and say 2 words, DAVE SMITH, They will flat out freak!!!! that is what happened when I bought my 02 from larry miller, They tried to work me over I told them what I would pay, They said no deal, I just flat walked out of the office, next day I get a call from the sales manager, I told them I was going to dave smith, and they would make the deal for me. He then said what if I match thier deal, I said ok, which was what I was offering them in the first place, it was actually pretty comical, its sad it has to be this way.

Anyways let me give you and example of a hythetical truck, lets say sticker is 40k, invoice would roughly be 35,800, you get this by taking 10. 5% off sticker price, its not exact but will get you within a couple hundred dollars +or - now they are offering 3000+1000 bonus cash, So this means our hypothetical 40k truck can be had for no more than 31,800. Dave smith claims to offer another $1500 off of that, so I am checking to see if they are really for real or not. Those #'s will get you the strait story on any of the trucks just plug the #'s in.

In '03 my son bought a silver dually fully loaded in Anchorage and it was 44/45k when he drove it home. In 04. 5 I decided to get a dodge diesel so I contacted Dave Smith and got a sivler dually just like his except I did not get the leather interior. My price was 36k at Dave Smith. My wife and I flew down from Anchorage and took a slow trip back to Anch through the Canadian rockies and still saved many thousands of dollars. A good friend of mine in Alaska wanted a new dodge last winter so he contacted dave smith and got a price, As he was in the Sacramento area at the time he tried to get the same price locally they said they would do it. When he got the paper work home he found where the sales manager put in real fine print down in the corner of the paper work that he would got the the factory and dealer incentives and that would have raised the price a bunch. He canceled the deal and got his money back. So where you guys are it is only a short hop to Dave Smith, I say short as it is about 2600 miles for me. Also on the 04. 5 , I think the brakes were increased in size.

Thanks guys,

I don't really need a long bed, but that is what I'm looking for. It's a little bit for looks and for functionality. We did look at a couple Mega-cabs, and were really impressed, but price is an issue and with stickers around 48k, a new truck just isn't an option (even a used Mega is out of reach for me).

Thanks for the tip on the headrests. I had not noticed that they weren't there on the 03's.

I picked my Megacab up for $42,000 and some change.
