Anyone see the movie "Bourne identidy"?

Pensacola, Fl

Crazy Horse... That would just tickle the hell out of me for us to get together and enjoy a diet Budweiser.

Walker... The thread was definately a debate and in any debate there are winners and losers based on the content of the participants responses. Your responses were based on your main stream credentials and not backed up with any supporting studies.

Your opponents were backing their remarks up with studies and personal experience which to me wins over opinions, even educated ones.

Saying the Atkins diet ruined the guys gall bladder is drawing conclusions based on a remark. Besides the guy lost 117 pounds which is probably where the gall bladder problem came from in the first place. Oh, oh, there I go, making assumptions too. Wonder how he would like to put the gall bladder and the 117 pounds both back.

So Wyo, "personal experiences and scientific studies" (even if their straight from the Atkin's bible itself) substantiates a winner.

Ok. Personal experience: I've worked with 100's of people for many years. From professional athletes, to grandparents; and exactly ZERO of them were on high protein diets. I had one person lose over 120lbs. and several over 50lbs, equalling literally 1000's of lbs. through the years. The Secret formula:

Diet consisting of 60-65%carbs(low GI)/15%protein(lean)/20-25%fat(non saturated)+ Exercise. In other words, healthy balanced diet + burning more calories than consumed.

As for my "educated opinion," seeing as how my information comes from actual "studies" and scientific research (hence my degree in the field of Health Science), I believe that qualifies itself as a pretty solid basis of legitimate information. Not just quotes about caveman diets and "tricking" your body to burn fat from the diet book I'm actually taking part in.

No offense, but I'm gettin' out of this one early.

Gotta go, there's a Slim Fast commercial on, no wait it's Jarrod on a Subway commercial, no wait... ...

Oops! Dr. Atkins diet bit him??

Did anyone mention that Dr. Atkins had a heart atack three months ago?

I suppose it wouldn't be real good for his position and his book sales, so it appears to have beem kept pretty quiet.

He did not die, but the report is that the diagnosis is (forgive the spelling) cardiomyopathy----means the heart is just working too poorly in general. Thats just what many of his detractors said would be the end result of that diet-----a skinny person with heart problems.

Is it coincidence or were they correct?

(I claim no expertise on the subject)
