Air Bags

Petroleum based products are a solvent and can very well speed deterioration of your roof. As HBarlow has suggested, mild dish soap or car wash soap is the stuff ya need!

I've used car wash soap with a cup of bleach in the mix.

I dont know if this is recommended, but it does a nice job of cleaning. :-laf

A lot of conversation on this on rv.com. Protect-all and Dicor have the recommended cleaning kits, with the uv protecent. You can also use 303 uv protectorent after cleaning if you use something else to clean it. Just use a mild soap, if in question read your owners manual.

I use a mild detergent and a pressure washer. I have also treated it with 303 Protectant in the past to help it with the UV's. So far so good.

I was researching this a month or so ago and I think 303 basically says no maintence needed; see this URL

303 Products, Inc. : The Truth About EPDM Rubber Roofs

They claim to wash with a mild dish soap (eg Dawn or similar) and save your money. You can look for yourself on the Aerospace 303 website (under EDPM roof). I just cleaned mine with soap and water and put the cover on to keep the worst off it.

My $0. 02, for what its worth.

I wouldn't use ArmorAll. It has a petroleum Distilate base from what I under stand. Remember what it did to the dashes on cars that were padded? It will attack the EPDM rubber. 303 is used extensively in the Areo industry and is highly accepted by the RV industry.

But its a free country, use what you like. And if you use Armorall, wear your saftey line while up there.

I use the rubber roof cleaners and have found them to do a good cleaning job, and supposedly they treat the rubber roof also.
