Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) maintenance question

hi guys,

hate to admit this but i have never had my '98 24 valve cummins in for any type of service (except oil and transmission fluid). it now has 88,000 miles and i have noticed it's lost some power. are there basic maintenance procedures i should have kept up on ( valve adjust ect. )? ,

Best bet is to read your Owners Manual. It gives a detailed list of things to do at various mileages.

I would check out the lift pump if you don't already have a fuel pressure gauge. Other than that, go ahead and adjust the valves, it's not hard to do and can't hurt anything by doing it.
