I am taking my truck in today for service.

I posted last week about a fuel drip off of my bell housing.

I have traced it to the rear injector where the fuel line threads on.

It is running down the back of my block on the drivers side and

dripping off my bell housing and wetting from there back.

It must be inside the bell housing as well since it is actually bubbling out around the bolt heads that bolt the bell housing

to the motor. I didn't feel like letting the dealer have it for a week if I could tighten it myself. I removed the back lift ear to get at it and totally removed the fuel line to this cylinder so that I could tighten what looks like a reducer bushing that the fuel line

threads into. Tightened and reassembled and still leaks.

Maybe it wasn't loose but over tightened originally.

Frustrated,

Eric:confused:

Had something similar happen on a John Deere 4430- tried tightening it up couple of times, still leaked and wound up having to replace the line. Doesn't leak now.

fixed for now

I had it in for service yesterday.

After fooling around for several hours they found the leak source

to be what I told them it was. The #6 injector line.

They said since it would take several days to get parts, they just

took apart, inspected and put it back together using proper torque settings. Seems to not leak any more.

One concern I have is that how much fuel is soaked into the shoddy cotton sound absorber on the firewall, and the fact that it does not evaporate as well as gasoline. Cross your fingers for no underhood fires. They also cross-rotated my tires to correct the pulling to the right I had.

after a short drive last evening,I smelled raw diesel badly around the truck. upon inspection I noticed diesel fuel all over under the hood. #3 injector line leaking,I grabbed the wrench and it turned about 1/4 turn, pressure washed the underhood and no leaks, yet. I run the ez on level 4 and have for over 5000 miles. anyone else have this problem? Barry
