There were some security holes found in PHP (which is one of the major OS components that the site runs on). I upgraded to the latest release tonight to stave off potential problems. If you run into any problems with the site please let me know here. When you recompile this software it's kind of like a house of cards and your trying to change out one of the bottom most cards - ie it's a nightmare! I'm pretty sure I have everything setup properly but you never know.

Don't know if this is related, but:

Was already logged on to the site (from before you made the changes), went to Others, went to thread about Walmart shooting and when the related thread reference came (the original one everyone had trying to remember!!!) I could not view it, got the message saying I was not logged in??

I don't see any indication on the server of any slowdown. The mysql slow query rate is . 001% (1. 6 slow queries per hour out of 152,526). The peak load in the last 7 hours on the web server is . 65 and on the mysql server . 39 (2. 0 being 100% load in both cases). I've been bouncing around on the site and it's as speedy as ever for me. It's probably something on the backbone between you guys and the server.

That isn't anything with the upgrade. Those menus use Javascript - which many parts of the forums do as well. Your PC is restricting Javascript from running. Check your internet security software or your firewall for a setting that is stopping Javascript from running.
