Good CB Radio?

Let's all remember that this "30 minute rule" ONLY applies to flights going into SLC (and maybe Reagan Int'l. ) It is designed SOLELY to prevent any kind of 9/11 attack on the Olympics. NOT all flights have this rule in place.

I for one feel no pity for the dumb*** SOB, and I think the book should be thrown at him. If you KNOW the rules ahead of time, then don't break them. If the guy needed to go to the bathroom so bad, get the FA's attention, and be ESCORTED to the can.

And you know what? If you don't like the rule, DON'T FLY!!!!!

Let's not forget that the problem happened AFTER he went to the can... . It's obvious that the attendants were willing to tolerate the rule 'bending' for the gentleman to go to the bathroom, cause when ya gotta go, you gotta go.....

It's after he exited that he decided to compound the problem.

If you want to be pi$$ed off at someone, be VERY VERY mad at the terrorists and other 'baddies' that, due to their actions, cause the majority of the people in this country to call for protection.

Is it perfect, absolutely not. Is it the best we've got, yes.

Since when?

Goverment is not a living enity? Bueracracys are though, they are much tougher to get rid of than politicions. I have a feeling this new one BHS, will be around long after any threat from terror.

And will a thorn in our side sooner than you think... ... . We can live in fear and look up everyones bu11 for the remains of terror, or we can live our lives with a little common sense and dignity. We needed another group hiring every politicions brother in law like we needed a hole in the head... ... ... IMHO I think it is a mistake that will haunt GW .

Socialists blow me away...

Something we should not lose sight of: Those fanatics who pulled off that atrocity on Sept. 11 were in the United States with the BLESSING of OUR Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Repeat for those of you that did not get that: OUR GOVERNMENT LET THESE PEOPLE IN.

In short, the US government, instead of performing it's primary responsibility of protecting the people of the US, aided and abetted in the destruction of the twin towers by it's imprudent laxity in immigration. Now we suffer from increased police powers and further erosion of pitiful amount of freedoms we had before 9/11.

We don't know this guy was a jerk, we weren't there! I only saw what I read. The flight attendant could have been behaving like a female dog for all we know.

I'll repeat, It's a bullpoop rule.

Care to explain this one a little further? Unless, the INS employees knowingly signed off on fraudulent paperwork I don't see how they 'added & abetted' anything. Now, I do agree that the process for Visas is a bit lax but you'd probably be the first one to complain about it if you needed to go to Germany (or pick any other country) and it took 6 months and a background check worthy of an FBI candidate to get your Visa. You'd probably be complaining about an infringement on your god given constitutional rights. Where do you draw the line between just enough screening & too much that it is liberals abusing my personal freedoms?

How much would you be willing to spend to ensure that nobody with bad intentions gets into the US with the 'blessing of our govt'? It's gonna cost money and that means tax dollars - reallocated from somewhere (not necessarily bad IMO) or higher taxes since we "can't afford a tax cut or to cut existing programs"

We are...

We are a reationary bunch though. If someone falls off a bridge because he was drunk and an idiot. We come along and build an eight foot fence! It is the same thing happening now. Some bad guys with box cutters get on three of our airplanes and fly them into buildings and the earth. All because they were able to take control of the airplanes! Now we are searching, x-raying, racial profiling, having thirty minute rules, and generally thinking up more and more crap everyday for the passenger and airlines to go through. Not to mention going to war with every third world nation in the middle east! We still have not put security doors on all our aircraft. We still haven't looked at a foreign policy that is lacking.

This is a mute now after United falls all the large airlines will domino anyway. Getting the goverment mixed up in labor disputes is something else that will haunt GW .

The problem is that the general public thinks they can do anything they want anytime they please. As americans we are told this is a free nation and we can do anything we want. Then we are told that you cant do this and that, and it contradicts with our beliefs and freedoms. Some dont like rules, and some could care less about anyone other than themselves. This only applies to two airports, and soon you will be able to bum rush the bathroom right before landing in Salt lake.

Here is the deal. The 30 minute rule is there for your safety, and if you dont like it, then drive. I think the 3000 people that lost there lives would have wished that security was better, and we are trying to keep this from happening again. Would you rather have the last thing through your mind be the black box in the tail, or have some dumb @@@ hold it for 30 minutes. Its called risk assesment, and the danger risk of having passengers move around is greater than having you in your seat.

Some might say this is a dumb rule, but it is in place to protect a lot of dumb people. Never underestimate the ignorance of the general public. I think this is the first time in most peoples life that they were required to comply with strict rules. Its called discipline.

nvr fnsh- have you looked at the immigration figures for the last thirty years?

How much does it cost to close the door?

Those that would give up liberty for security will soon have neither.

Any of you out there familiar with Animal Farm? Brave New World?

Nineteen Eighty Four? Or better yet The Bible? Band Aids will not cure cancer, and that's what we got.

You're right it was after he exited and the Air Waitress was offended that he looked at her, after she was probably as rude as they have been, even before 9/11. Anyone remember when the air waitresses were nice, and pleasant? So she got him back, huh? And the last thing I want is some armed waitress. I know I could take a weapon from a waitress I'm sure a terrorist could too. All that needs to happen is get a cabin door that you can't get through and the Pilots under NO circumstances are to open it. And a Cargo area that is Bomb proof (yes they have them), and lastly have the security (and I use the word security with a bit of sarcasm) do there job. End all the other bull, because that's all it is. More rules and More Government is never good... ... . Armed waitress LOL what will be next retinal scan at the drive thru?
