Ah! You brought up a good point. No long bed in the 4door format yet! I have to have my long bed. I have got so accustomed to my long bed that I really like it.

Yet? Mine was manufactured in 2002, 2003 model.

Y-knot,

Calm down, one of these days you're going to burst something!;)

I know you want a crew cab Dodge (read it in about 2 dozen posts). If you really want Dodge to listen, I suggest you send DC Customer Relations a letter, and ask everyone else that wants one too to send one. You'll get way more attention than continuous griping in these forums.

Catcracker has a point, and although it was perhaps it was phrased less than diplomatically, it does get tiring to listen to this same old line over and over.

I like my Quad Cab and lots of other folks do too. It would be nice if DC would make a Crew Cab for those of you that really want one, but I can't see it happening. Tomeygun is right.

It is especially hard to listen to criticism of the 3rd gen quad cab from 2nd gen quad cab people, let alone 2nd gen extended cab people.

Hopefully we can all get along. Maybe we should talk about the PSD again!

If a person has enough money, they can have as many full size doors as they want. Just buy a standard truck and carry it to a limo customizing shop. They will stretch it for you.

I agree with everyone!

Aren't we on this site for the engine?

I know a lot of people who would still be driving Ford and Chevy had it not been for Dodge having the Cummins. Many of them have went back and forth and seem to be happy with the 3G 4 dr. At the same time everyone I know wishes that it was bigger. I think my salesman made a good point when he said " it would have been easier to sell a larger cab than the "largest bed".

But it is true - it is all about the money. DC make their choices based on studies if they do thier job - and here we are buying the truck for the engine. I think they know it. I am sure that someday, they will increase the size of the cab when they change the factories out for the next new body style. Then if Ford and GM keep up the same "sell it before it works" attitude, DC will kick serious butt.

BTW, I get a kick out of some of the more emotional post - as long as they are not directed at a person.

I think Dodge should have kept the extended cab option, Chevy and Ford did. Some people just dont like or need four doors on a truck. I dont like the way any of the four door trucks look. I hope they bring back the extended cab/club Cab or at least have an option of hiding the door handles.

Thanks

Don

All the stuff that was available for the second gen trucks will soon be here. Most of it is already. I'm not sure how many people I have seen that wanted louder when they got their third gen and then made friends with the quieter truck after a while. Of course some didn't and you might not but I think most come to like it and sooner rather than later. It does have a nice bark when you ditch the exhaust, throw a turbo and other assorted parts on. Oh and one other thing... Thank god Dodge doesn't make those darn crew cabs. Anyone who would buy such a thing truly deserves to be in a Ford. Anyone detect any sarcasm there?

Woohoo! My thread got thouroughly *******ized! #ad

Jumbo Jet, what was the specs on that truck? I'm looking for a 4wd 2500 6spd (preferable HO) long bed extended cab.

I don't buy the crap DC is pushing about how many crew cabs they'd sell... At least here in AZ crew cab short bed Fords are the majority of the trucks they sell... I *RARELY* see extended cab or regular cab Fords... maybe it's just the wide open space of AZ... I dunno. Regardless, the *only* thing that's currently stopping me with upgrading to the gen 3 is the crew cab. I've owned 2 Dodge trucks since my '95 I had. I refuse to send any more $$$ DC's way until they step up to the plate and take care of their existing customers (I'm thinking lift pump fiasco as a major source of my bitterness)... Oh yeah, I have a gen 2 3500 and I think the new trucks have weird tailgate lights in the center... and I can't stand the Dodge Caravan inspired interior... I still feel the gen 2 trucks have the best looking interior... maybe not built the best, but definitely look the best.

:-{}

I agree with Mingoglia about the interior. Except for the gauge cluster, I think it was inspired by Ford. I personally like the exterior.

DC can't please everybody but I think most of us love our trucks despite the little things. I can be glad I didn't get a 6. 0 PS in the 3G:p

TAZ-- I got a rattler for ya. An April 2002 ST (rubber floors and roll up windows) Quad, 6spd ETH, 18K Graphite. Total sweetheart. Has AC and center counsol. I thought I would own it forever but with grandkids I am opting for a new one. Can't shoot gophers out the back windows of the 02. Have a ding on front hood when truck idled into our boat one bad day but will trade the Kelderman air ride and Rancho's if you fix the ding! Has an EZ (not in it) to go with it. And the steering stabilizer from the Canadian guys. Just highway miles. I will keep the Gear Vendor and Ricksons for new rig. geusterman

if i said simmer down would that tick you off more?... ... SIMMER DOWN!... . ok here is my response the reason i am tired of hearing about how small the quad cab is b/c it is coming from people who don't own them. i am sorry you dont like it dont buy it. why would you buy the club cab that is not even 4 doors????????????????? hmmmmmmm meanwhile i will except all of the comments given to me by strangers about how much they like my truck and that they want one. i never got one comment on my 99 all i ever heard people say was "loud f*&^in dodge" my new truck is not quiet i have 5" back it is loud as hell just not while people are trying to talk outside the cab, big d/f. if you will read dodge's literature they dont say crew cab they call it a quadcab what is the d/f? I bought the engine not the truck but they have come along way since my 99. i am will probably sell this 03 and buy a 97 but that is only b/c i can get rid of this truck note. i am getting a company car here pretty soon. now let me add this i hope dodge makes a larger cab and i think they will just give it time but the cabs they have made now are big enough. my uncle 1999 ford crew cant follow me in the woods it funny watcing him having to back up. parking his truck is funny to... . ok i am tired of typing.

by the way my flame suit held up just fine unphased:p

I'm 6'4" and could easly manage in the back of the quad cab for several hours. It would be like a lazy boy compared to the ride i had in a friends chevy extended cab down to key west, fl 5 hours. Plus if the dodge was any longer It would not fit in my garage. I like the quad cab much better than the crew cab. I think many people do by looking at my neighborhood, most don't even have the tow package, just used for daily drivers.

geusterman, You are in Washington?

Wow that's pretty far from me. You truck sounds like what I want, but that's a "tad" bit too far from me :) i. e. you are on the other side of the country! hehe I am in Georgia

I'm window shopping at the moment, I probably won't make a move on a truck till next summmer honestly. But I have my mind set to get another truck in 2004 and give my 1995 single cabe to my mother for her a daily driver.

Okay, I'll have to go try out a 3g backseat.

BUT no matter what it fits. The doors LOOK GOOFY and I don't like them. Look at a FOUR door Dakota--why can't big brother RAM have four doors, balanced like those?

:-{}  :D :-laf :-laf

Hey, don't argue with me--you likey yours and I don't. I may build a 2G with 4 full doors and make the back ones "suicide-style" ;)

Wade, although there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to asthetics, the 3rd Gen Quad Cab does not look "goofy". A new Chevy truck looks goofy, an Avalanche looks goofy, an Aztek looks goofy, Honda Elements look goofy, 1975 AMC Pacers look goofy.

Just trying to put stuff into perspective for ya!!!!!:D :D :D :D

Dave

Honda Element looks goofy? It looks plain ugly.

Hey, I get nothing but compliments on my 2003 4x4 DRW QC. But it could have something to do with the 5500 badges and the 34. 5 inch tall 19. 5's, and the winch bumper up front too.

Yeah, that's it, their too busy looking at everything else to notice the rear cab doors. All I can say is it fits for who I carry in it anyhow.

Ho yeah, those are some downright awful rides. I'm saying that the doors look goofy. The whole truck looks okay--cept for the doors:D ;)

Don't take me personal, I'm not looking for a fuss. :-{} :-laf
