can I use ethanal instead of methanal in the manufacturing of bio diesel.

Saw a furd the other day here in town hauling 2 cubes of red stuff that was labeled "soybean". Was this dye added , I never saw red soybean oil before. Should've followed them and see where they were off to.

you can use ethanol, but it's more expensive than methanol

Thanks, I can get it for free from the place I work at. 10-20 gallons a week is nothing to the 1000 gallons we use.

I've read that you have to be careful with ethanol because it may contain water. That's why most people use methanol.

well my understanding and i could be wrong wont be the first time but i think that methanol has the possiblity of water in it too. my understanding is that any alc can mix w/ water and so you have to be careful. this is just my understanding correct me if im wrong.
