Mornin' fellow TDR fraternity Bro's !!! It has been a while since I've participated but I read just about every post daily. I first really noticed the MAG-HYTEC rear end covers, when I attended May madness, in 2000. Just about every "custom" truck there had the cover and it could be seen easily when one strolled down the parking lot. At that event though, I decided to buy the trans pan and wait a while to get the rear end cover. I insist on doing my own maintenance work on all of my equipment and especially on my truck. I have had too many bad experiences with the so called "EXPERTS" and their brain dead employees (mechanics) and their shoddy work.
My 1999 truck has about 60,000 miles on it at this time and it runs better all the time! I have had absolutely NOTHING go wrong with this vehicle! I do plan on bombing it again soon ( I miss my DD stg III injectors) if I can make up my mind about what "MAGIC BOX" to buy. I have never kept a vehicle that I have purchased new, when the odometer approaches 50,000 miles due to poor resale values but I plan on keeping this truck until I get tired of it, regardless of mileage. I still get 20-25 mpg on the superslab and it rarely drops below 19 mpg in town or when the truck is driven at hyper velocities! It still doesn't use a drop of oil between its 3,000 mile change intervals. I've put a set of front disc pads on and a complete set of new tires at abot 50,000 miles and that's been all that's been done to the truck!
It is still hot in Carthage, in the SW corner of Missouri, but it's still better than breathing SMOG in my native state of Calif. Our home is almost ready to move into and the "pond" is filling up nicely. Rivers, lakes and streams are everywhere and the fishin' and swimmin' is great! I do miss the ocean though!
I heard from Bruce, TULSA618, that a new chapter of the TDR may start up in the Kansas City area and I look forward to attending the meetings! Take care, Sam
