Peter and Andy, thanks for letting me know about the less-than-100% American content of our engines. However, my lack of knowledge drove home another point---you can no longer get a truly 100% American-made vehicle any more. We just have to live with it and buy the best vehicle we can at the time.

The only made in America "vehicle" I can think of is from Polaris. My '04. 5 Sportsman 500 HO has "Made In America" stamped all over it. Even the Carlisle tires say it.

I found made in germany stamps on something on my polaris when I had it torn all the way down, don't remember what part it was though. Was a 2001 trailblazer

Im pretty sure hes right. The 500 is a fuji. I had the 700. Not balanced well but had some balls.

Well, I still love my '95 which according to the vin was "Made in America". Now I KNOW that means some parts were manuf'd somewhere else and only assembled onto the truck here, but I LIKE that phrase, "Made in America". And yes, I really do buy American, even when it costs more.



I bought the truck with aftermarket gauges--egt, boost and trans temp, and they are the "U. S. Gear" brand. Awhile back I had to take them out of the gauge mount, to do something and all 3 said, "Made in India" on the back.



Question: So why doesn't China rename the island of Hong Kong "America". Then all the crap they send over here can say, "Made in America" on it!!
