My D25's should be here next week and I was curious as to what folks that run these think is also "required" in addition to the springs. I'm currently using the 3rd Gen TB conversion and was told at the time I bought it that this would work fine with the 2. 5' leveling springs. I'm not so sure anymore though, the more I read about the axle shifting to one side with just a 2. 5' lift makes me wish I would have did an adjustable TB. Is it really that big of a shift to need an adjustable TB with just a 2. 5' lift?

Also, what about longer control arms? Some people are running them, some are not. Is it just personal preference? I'll be mounting 325/60/18 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's on shortly, just waiting on the wheels, and I just want to make sure everything is addressed in the front end that needs to be and that I don't have any clearance issues.

Hmm... . I've got 315/70/16's and they rub with only D25's. I'd think about getting some longer control arms such as Skyjacker or DT's. Darin's Steering Stabilizer is also a must. And adjustable track bar might also round it out and keep thos big meats driving sweet.

I see you have the DSS already.

What brewski said is exactly what I did to run the d25's.

Longer control arms (from SkyJ)

DSS

But I also added the DT trackbar to recenter the front axle. If you don't, the tire on the driver side will stick out an inch further than the passenger side. This is due to the non adjustability of the stock bar.

Although I don't necessarily have a "stock" TB, it's not adjustable so I still may need DT adjustable. I'll see how far I'm off before I make that plunge though.

Anyone have a part number for the control arms I would need? It appears there are three different versions according to the SJ website.

Longer shocks. I use Bilsteins all around and the front units are for 2" to 4" lifts. I think the part # for the longer ones on the front is something like 6681. You can go to Rickson Truck and look. I think they sell Bilstein.

Hey Double J,

If it's not a big deal, could you post some picture's of your truck when you get the wheel's and leveling kit finished. I want to do a leveling kit but can't decide on 17" or 18" wheel's. I'd love to see how it look's. :D I posted this question a while back about wheel size's and apparently not to many people have picture's of 2nd gen truck's w/ 18"s as knowone replyed. I'd really appreciate it. Thank's and good luck with it! :)

Sure thing Beach. I'll be running some 18" Diamo 8 Karat wheels in those big MT's. It'll be more towards the end of the month before I see the wheels since their being shipped snail mail. It should be a pretty aggressive looking set up though.

Check out "LAMiller" gallery for pics of some 18's. He's running 325/60/18 Nitto Grapplers. IMO the MT's look a little beefier than the Nittos, plus have a E-load rating.

Cool,

I can't wait to see how it look's! I've seen the picture's of LAMiller's truck and it look's good. I have the exact same truck/color except mines a short bed. I don't think he has a leveling kit? I like the MT tire's also, They're my choice! If you don't want to post the pic's here you can send them to my e-mail which is under my profile. It does'nt matter to me! Either way is fine! Thank's again! :)

hi Double J i just installed darrins 03 adjst track bar. because my right wheel was out

1 1/2'' needed to shift back 3/4'' i noticed after install i had frame contact w/ upper

spring tower & upper control arm frount mount there is good pic of this from

tramplineman on [ witch controle arms do you recomend in this forum]

hope this helps -john

Thanks John. I'm still waiting on my springs as of now though. The place I bought them failed to inform me they were on back order, after waiting nearly three weeks already. #@$%! I figured I'd save some shipping costs and buy them locally... lesson learned I guess. If everything goes as planned (promised) I should have the wheels and springs on next weekend. :D

hi again Double J did you happen to see tramplinemans pictures ?see the upper controle arm mount it appears to be a bumpstop w/ no rubber & at the top of pic

there is approx 1'' protusion in spring tower mount this where i had slight contact

w/ only 3/4'' offset to right so it dosen't take much was tearing up right tire outter

tread blocks BIG TIME also created a 1"difference in wheelbase from one side to the other as the left controle arm becomes lengthend &the right arm becomes shortened

hope this helps - john

Yeap, I'll make sure I take a look at that possible contact area before I even put it in "D". The wheels should have enough offset to get me away from everything, but I am starting to wonder if the 13. 50" width of MT's will make things a little to close for comfort.

Not to hijack the thread but were is the cheapest place for buying these Skyjacker parts. I am going to be doing the 2. 5in lift but im going to piece the kit together as I get the money.

Skyjacker D25 Springs, SJ double flex control arms, SJ replacement leafs, SJ dual steering stabilizer, and SJ dual shock mounts with SJ nitro shocks all the way around. Do I need a new drag link?

Thuren Track bar, someday the crossover steering kit

Ill be running 315/75/r16 Maxxis Buckshot Mudders
