Diesel Girl goes Amsoil

Stuck my truck!

Hi Guys:

I'm looking for the exhaust manifold/turbo from a 6. 5 liter GM diesel so I can install it on a 6. 2. Do any of you know where these spare parts are? Have any of you ever done this?

Thanks,

John

head on over to the diesel page. they are the gm equal of the TDR. they have a classified section i think. they have forums like here, so you could search there or post this question there. regesteration to post on the forums is free i think [i was a paying member before, but dropped them to join here]

turbo on a 6.2

I have put a 6. 5 manifolds, turbo and all the goddies onto a 6. 2.

You will need the injectors from the 6. 5 as they are shorter and are needed for clearance. The 6. 2 injectors will hit the back side of the exhuast manifold. It is all bolt on. You can then increase the fuel setting to get around 12 psi boost max.

I think Diesel Auto Service sells used 6. 5 turbo stuff. Their name is the web site.

Your Chevy with a 5. 9 Cummins isn't in the Four Wheeler magazine is it? There's a good looking one in there. Anyway, I've got a quote from Diesel Depot for $1200 with a used turbo, that's crazy. My pump is already turned up pretty good, how much of an increase in power do you expect? Will the 6. 2 run reliably with 12# of boost and a compression ratio of 21. 5-22. 5:1? Thank you

turbo

How long it will last will depend on a lot of things like:

1)cooling system

2) how hard you run it

3) how fresh is your engine

4) should intercool it.

My 6. 5 lasted 80 miles before it puked! It was "bombed" to 225 RWHP.

No, my truck is not in any mag.
