Manual High Idle?

can you guys tell me if it has to be a certain temperature to work? Had mine enabled this morning when truck was hot... . and afterwards tried it and it didnt work. we just figured it was because the truck was hot.



I saw it myself on the DRB that it said enabled..... and we double checked that again too. So it is enabled. truck is a 2004 automatic. any insight?

Since you say you saw that it was enabled, I can only guess that you might've had your foot on the brake.



The manual high idle will work at any temperature.

I have a 07 and the dealer said the idle up is enabled. They also said that it won't work if the truck is warm. Did DC change something so the manual high idle only works if the truck is cold? I tried having the conversation that the owner's manual says nothing about it having to be cold for the manual high idle to work. Any suggestions?

i can turn mine on at any temp. doesn't matter if it cold or hot. its all user input with the cruise control buttons.

It almost sounds like they have the manual high idle mixed up with the automatic one. There is a high idle that comes up to 1000 RPM while the truck is sitting if a few other parameters are met (engine is cold, etc).

06 and up use a scat scan tool . 04. 5 & 05 use a drbII tool , they use different tools for the same job , just had my 04. 5 amd 06 done , both work well and temp isn t a factor

Mine is working now. I don't know if temp. is a factor or not. I turned on cruise, hit the set button and the idle went to 1000 rpm. I then hit accl. and it would go up a 100 rpm at a time to 1500 rpm. It is 14F outside today so I won't be able to test the temp. factor until it warms up.
