Just installed the Dyna trac manual hub kit on my 02. Went pretty fast about 4 1/2 hrs including lunch and driving to town. No sure yet but looks like I picked up some MPG some time I will be able to telll how much. ALOT less parts and weight turning now.

That's cool! What ultimately made you decide to go that route? Can you put up some pictures? I'd like to see how the installation looks. I've been contemplating this as a fix to my pinion vibration after having lifted the truck but it's an aweful lot of money.

Why would any one want a front end that has no disconnect???

Axels that spin, all the gears and drive line too.

And no way the throw it in 4 low on asphalt when loaded.

I am interested in this as well. I travel 1100 miles to Canada on highways then the last 200ft of the trip requires 4WD. I would sure like to stop all the unnecessary hardware wear if possible. Any information on suppliers/cost would be appreciated.

Click on parts and accessories at the top then look on the bottom left for Dodge Hub conversion.

It says that it is for trucks through '99. Do they have a newer kit for the 99 and newer??

Dave

Just spoke to Dyna Trak. They do have a new kit for the '99up through '05. It works basically the same as the other lits and replaced the sealed bearings with the Timken style units. These are first come first serve, and they have shipped 20 units. 20 more are on back order with an ETA of early November on orders placed today.

The CAD is pulled, an extending ring is used to keep the stub engaged and a cover plate is provided in place of the old motor. Hubs are included and rotors are reused.

Thanks for the reply and website referral. I have a 3500 so will need to call them to see if the same kits apply. Big price spread from Stage 1 to 3, but I guess it depends on how "beefy" you want to make the front.

hubs

I will try and post some pics... . nice quality pieces, got rid of the non servicable bearings. What you do is remove wheel, caliper, caliper holder, disk and abs sensor. remove axle nut and the four bolts that hold spindle /bearing assembly and remove. Slide axle out and replace axle end with new longer one supplied in kit. replace axle and install new spindle holder. Pack new tapered timkin bearings. Install inside bearing and seal into spindle, and install. Put outer bearing in and install 6 point nuts with retainer. Install warn hubs. put disk, caliper holder, and caliper back on and install abs sensor. Nice kit but I do have to admit the hub sticks out a little. About 5" from face of wheel (base of lug nuts). The looks grow on you quick and I like it now.

Now you just need a hole in the hub cap, huh? Would be easy to make a clean circle on a mill. But having that hub out there tells you that you have no worrys!!
