If it's a gimmick, A bunch of us have been taken. Genos sell them and alot of people that tow use them. They also allow you to add 2 quarts of your favorite go juice to the transmission. They work IMO.

I've had them on my NV4500 since new. Click on my "View Reader's Rigs Gallery" link to the left for a pic.

The lube capacity is almost doubled, and the extra surface area keeps the fluid cooler. Definitely not a gimmick!

Thanks

Thanks guys ... that's all I needed to know. For the price it seems like a good transmission protection.

I just don't want to get burned by snake oil salesman any more :p

..... that's why I joined TDR :D

I have had 2 on my NV5600 for the last 2 years. I also have temp probes in both my rear diff as well as NV5600 (SPA digital gauges). When I'm sitting in traffic, those two temperatures equal out and are pretty much identical. When driving at decent speed when air flows over the FastCoolers, the transmission temp can be as much as 30*F cooler than my rear diff. Rear diff has a Mag Hy-Tec cover on it. I also use Amsoil in everything - Series 3000 5W-30 engine oil in the transmission and Series 2000 75W-90 gear lube in both differentials.
