It's easy to to Tomey, I did it and I like it. The only bad thing is that once the turbo kicks in, the smoke is gone. From what I've played around with it, it's really only good if your just slowly crusing and want to throw a good smoke cloud quickly. I prefer to lay the hammer down and let it smoke for even longer. Just my $. 02

This would be an awesome mod for guys trying to spool larger twins right off the bottom. I asked a couple of the box manufactures to consider offering a simple inline module to do this and they acted like I was crazy. Looks like some will be building they're own now.

Here's what the Power Pup on Tow and the VA C3. 1 will give you for bottom end fueling... :-laf

THat thread goes hand-in-hand with what some have did with a TST box, jump the 5+ hot lead to the input on the TST harness, viola - your TST sees 40psi all the time and fuels right from idle (SRADKE did this first I think)

Can anyone expalin this TST mod more clearly. Sounds interesting and I'd like to try it if I had some better directions.

Thanks,

Chuck

A friend emailed me a link to that thread. I'm in the process of poking for a little more info, that guy comes across to me as a little sketchy...

I got a real test for it! How bout puttin it on a dyno for a little before and after!!Gotta say I don't like scotch locks much on wireing.

Funny thing...

The thread is gone (along with the two others). I guess someone didn't like what they had to say

Yea, last time I looked last night things seemed to be going downhill on the thread. Thread gone this am. The ideas seemed to make sense and as stated above not completely unknown. The pictures of the wiring did kind of look scary, but who knows how some of the performance boxes got started. .

I couldn't find it this morning either. Maybe my post last night was just more than the mods could let slide

I've never had a post on TDR deleted or even edited and my first DTR post is in a thread that get's waxed. I'll just stay here and be happy.

No matter how carefull ya are over their they will slap ya around once or twice!Got mine for puttin in my $. 02 about removing a cat! :-laf

What happened was he was selling the item he was creating, therefore dtr deleted his thread. They stated the language that was used in the threads.

on that site if you mention removing the cat they slap you and say that is an illegal conversation and shut the thread down or remove the post. :(

Map Fooling

Does anyone one know with doing this map fooling trick w/ the tst & ez, will it do anything to throw a persons valves off? What I mean is, I recently had my valves adjusted and they were WAY off. Could the valves being way off be do to the advance timing by fooling the map sensor thinking it has 40lbs of boost right away? Just curious, I love being able to throw smoke at the blip of the throttle! Hope I didn't confuse anyone.

I dont think the tst programming (or fooling) would have any effect on the mechanical side of the engine...

Maybe due to more stress, but thats about it.

So... IMHO, no

THe valves have their own timing, and it is fixed, controlled by the timing gears.

The injection is controlled by the ECM, and is variable. There are all sorts of devices to adjust injection timing, but you need to replace the camshaft to change valve timing in these engines.

Thanks Tom and betterthanstock. Wasn't sure. Also, what is the rattling sound I hear when I do this. Same sound I get when the engine is cold and I don't let it warm up? I know it's not hurting anything, but just curious.

P. S. Hey tom, did you get to the post office yet?
