As stated above, I don't see any reason why the advanced timing should affect your valve lash. The rattle you hear is detination. It is caused by the timing being advanced all the time rather that just under high load/boost/rpm conditions. Ordinarily the TST will ramp the timing advance in taking into account boost and rpm but you've fooled it into thinking it has full boost so it just gives you full advance all the time rather than ramping it in as the boost increases.

how big of a timing advance does this put out? could this be like a 12v thing where you might consider stud because of inreased pressure? just trying to understand it in simple terms :-laf

With a standard TST program you're looking at 12° beyond stock at the most. That is still RPM dependant as I understand it. It's not any more timing than it would normally give you, you just get it all the time. To answer the question directly, no I wouldn't expect the need for studs due to this mod alone.

on that site if you mention removing the cat they slap you and say that is an illegal conversation and shut the thread down or remove the post. :(

But, A Bully Dog w/CL and TST w/twins stack is perfectly legal, and ok  ?

If you are going to say it's illegal, you should be consistent.

Modifying your truck from it's factory form requires re-certification unless the parts you are installing are certified for your state.

That being said, my 588rwhp 2nd gen isn't the most legal on the road either. heheh
