I've been setting overboost codes and I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions. I've tried dielectric grease, I sent my comp box in and had a new one sent back and that didn't seem to help any. The overboost code (234) comes and goes. I'm down to the following possibilities. The harness on my comp is bad:mad: . The computer in my truck is screwy:mad:  . Or my MAP has gone really bad:confused: . But even if my map was bad wouldn't the comp hide the overboost condition from the computer? Either way I'm going to replace the MAP just to eliminate it. But I need some help on how to do it. Thanks

Wes

Hey I forgot to tell you it sets the overboost code at any amount of boost usually around 8lbs. Thats the screwy part that makes me think the MAP is bad but I really have no clue.

unplug the wires--unscrew the old MAP and screw in the new MAP and connect wires---it takes a contortionist to get to it though--good luck---chris

Thanks Chris, I went ahead and did it. I was finishing up about the time you posted. I still keep getting codes though. Mostly 237 & 238 but I still occasionally get 234. Anyone else want to give me some ideas.

237 MAP a circuit low

238 MAP a circuit high

234 Engine Overboost condition

I completely unhooked the comp wiring harness and hooked up the map like stock it never coded. However I only drove it for 5 minutes. I hooked up the comp map harness and it coded after a few minutes of driving. I cleared the codes and drove for 15 minutes with no codes while running the comp.

I'm open for suggestions even a temporary fix like a resistor in the stock wiring harness to prevent the 234 code. The other two just set a light but the 234 will shut me down.

Thanks Again,

Wes
