Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) MAP Sensor Info

After several "Check Engine" codes on my '99 Ram indicating my MAP sensor was on the way out, I headed off to the local Cummins dealer for a replacement. I called first to be sure they had one in stock. The P/N is 3348747. The point of this post is that I was surprised to find there is a $22. 50 CORE CHARGE for the old sensor! After the core credit, the charge for the MAP sensor (Cummins calls it "Pressure Sensor") was $50. 82 Apparently the old sensor is "recycled" and the only portion used again is the threaded metal base. The replacement part number is: 3348747NX



From previous posts on MAP sensors, this is quite a bit cheaper than the Dodge dealer for the exact same part.

That's new. Got mine for $64 and change from Cummins in Denver CO earlier this year. No core charge.
