The 02 truck has been running fine with the Smarty, Walbro, and the AFE. I've been running on #7 for 5-6 months now and today just for grins I thought I would check for Codes with the Smarty. There was a P0236, P0602, and the standard 1693 stored. I cleared the codes and put it back to the stock SW. After I got home from work (12 miles) I checked for codes again and the P0236 was back again, the 602 was gone. The truck runs fine, could the map sensor be bad when the truck is running good? There has been no check engine light or runability problems.

Mine recently started doing the same thing, only mine was a P0237. I tried re-seating connectors, and clearing the code, but every couple of weeks it would set again - so I have installed a new MAP sensor - so far, no more codes. Here's a pointer to a website for best price on a replacement MAP sensor:

Cummins Sensors

Lots better price than DC or Cummins charges!

Gary, thanks for the reply.

My big question is; I'm wondering if I should just leave it alone since the truck is ruuning good. From the searches I've done here it appears that runability problems accompany a bad map sensor. Or, what consequences of running a bad map sensor could occur?

I put it back on SW#7 and ran it all day today. It ran good. . . does the 02 have a check engine light that is supposed to come on when there is a problem?

It's easy enough to get and replace parts but. . . anybody?
