Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Does anyone have a Cummins part number for the MAP sensor?
Here's the deal. Cummins is telling me, and I have this on voice mail, that there's no such part for that engine. He says it's strictly an OEM part and they don't use a MAP sensor on that engine (I gave him my engine serial number so it's not a 12 valve confusion issue). I find it hard to believe that Cummins ships this engine with no MAP sensor. This sounds completely ridiculous to me.
This is the same Cummins dealership that said they had no way to get a part number from the number printed on the side of a fleetguard oil filter. It's also the same dealer that I had to go into their storeroom to find my fuel filters because the parts guy had "no idea" which fuel filter a Dodge truck uses. This is a Cummins Atlantic dealer by the way...
Anyhow, the Dodge official name for the part is Turbo Boost Pressure Sensor and they want 120 bucks. Any input here would be appreciated.
