After I got done replacing my VP44 the other day, a problem arose.

The engine would have a miss or stumble after driving it at highway speeds, then after that it would clear up. Checked all the fuel lines and seems to be good. Got a code for high volt to MAP sensor. I was unplugging it and messing with it today and it got a worse so I am assuming that it is it.

I know that the MAP operates off of a 0-5 volt range depending on the pressure. is it 0 or 5 volts at idle (no boost)? I seem to be getting 5 volts no matter what. I do have a comp on there as well. Thoughts?

You should not be seeing 5 volts all the time. the voltage level is much lower at idle than at higher rpm. Voltage chages with load on engine also.

Am I right to assume that 0 volts is at idle then?

Does the connection from the harness supply it with 5 volts all the time? I kind of get the impression it acts as a voltage regulator of sorts. Just trying to understand how it works.
