Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) map sensor socket?

I have a 2000 5. 9L, anybody know the size socket to take off original map/boost sensor. I have the new one, which is 1 1-16 but original is much bigger. I have to replace sensor due to p0237 code and found sensor full of diesel, then have to find diesel leakage!

Lots of speculation about that in the archives. Some say 1 1/16" others say 1 1/4" deep socket. It's probably metric which would be about 27mm or 32mm respectively. Some also said the replacement was different size but still one of the above. bg

I believe the old OEM one is 1-1/4 but don't remember for sure. As I recall I used the old one to get the right socket and like you it was to small for the OEM. I took what I think was an 1-1/4 socket I broke the top off the old OEM one and used the socket to get it out. Luckily the socket I had worked!!!!

thanks, i got it. old one was 1 1/4 and new one is 1 1/16. fixed power problem now have to fix fuel leak at #4 fuel line. ordering new line today. .
