Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) MAP sensor ??

So I had the fuel canister out of my 1999 yesterday and pulled the map sensor out for a look see. It was pretty dirty so i gave it a good cleaning and reinstalled it. It took a 1 1/4 socket to remove but the new one i had a 1 1/16 nut . The new one also had a smaller sensor hole but the threads for the hole were the same and the electrical connection were the same. So i was worried to use it because of the smaller sensor hole. I was already dealing with pressure issues and did not want to complicate the problem. Is the new on safe to use??
