So I went and had my VP44 replaced and a Fass system put on. While in the shop the boost sensor went out (which I knew it would need replacing anyways) The shop said there is a new sensor that replaces the old which is being called the Map sensor. This new sensor requires a new harness splice. The thing is my truck seems to be missing about 25% of the power it had before it went in.

Could the shop have installed the wrong sensor? Has anyone heard of this new sensor or the required harness for it?

I unplugged my batteries this morning to clear my codes and I will see what I get once I take it back out. If its still the pump or something else.

discharging the batteries may not clear all of the set codes. best to find a code reader or a local member with a Smarty to check and clear the codes. Is the check engine light on? Do you get any codes with the ignition key trick?

I am getting codes with the key trick. There is no check engine light. I will take it to a shop and have them cleared if I still have any after tonight.

Had the codes cleared at an auto shop this weekend. When I got home there where none (with the key trick). I wrote down the codes prior to having them erased. P0216, P1693, (which I had prior to the pump being replaced) but I had a P0236 which something about the wastegate.

Besides the lack of power I am seeing my EGT's seem high and boost seems low, they might be normal I dont know. Going 70 w/ cruise on, flat road, my EGT is between 800-900 and my boost is around 10 psi. Giving it WOT it barely reaches 20 psi. Mileage is sucking too.

Could my wastegate be bad or not full seated? Come to think about it I cant remember hearing the pssst from the wastegate when I shift. I didnt drive it far after getting the codes erased.

I've got the same thing going on since replacing some sensors so I'm watching this thread, after replacing the map does something need to be reset?

you need to figure out what sensor they installed that required a harness change. that makes NO sense at all. wrong sensor can cause trouble including overboost code, defueling...

It was supposedly the sensor that Cummins calls the Turbo Boost Sensor that is right above the lift pump. The shop said Cummins is now using this "Map" sensor in its place.
