I recently had my pump changed and had them install a FASS 95 and apparently a newer version of the boost/map sensor. This new sensor required an updated wiring harness. Since the installs my trucks seems to be running about 25% less power. My question is, how can I verify this sensor is wired or reading right? Could it be giving a false reading so my fuel supply is adjusted accordingly?

Its insanely sluggish at bottom and only if I hold it WOT does it get out of its own way. Boost rarely and I mean rarely gets above 10psi. Only when I stab it and hold it will it maybe creep to 18psi. But normal driving, flat road doing 70 my boost is around 9psi and EGTs around 900. Is this normal? It seems to be getting around 15-16 mpg too, which is way down from the 19-20 I was getting before.

Something is off but I dont know where to start in order to find it. Could I have a boost leak somewhere? Is this "new" sensor really correct or reading correctly? If its a newer sensor with newer wiring do I need to reset the ECU or reflash anything? Wish I had an "old" style boost sensor to test agaisnt. Anyone know what the operating ranges in volts are for these sensors so I can test them or the wiring diagram? I would go to our local Cummins shop but they screwed me pretty good last time so I have no choice but to figure it out on my own.

Give me a day to look thru my box of wire harnesses and see if I have one. Can't promise anything but if it would help you out I'll look.

Have you checked for any codes? Sure sounds like a bad MAP sensor. I'd take it back to the shop and see if they'll give you another one. shouldn't be an issue as they can return it to their supplier.

I did have a code about the wastegate. It was a new code that happened from the shop to the house (I had a bunch from the pump being bad). I went to an autoparts dealer and had them erased and I havent had any codes since. The actual code is at home.

Speaking of wastegates, are you supposed to be able to move that rod? I tried and couldnt.

Rod going to the waste should not move freely using your hand. The adjustment is real touchy and as I found out, you need to know what you are doing to adjust one. I ordered a new MAP today because I am having similar problems to yours. Did you get yours fixed?
