cummins had a 300hp (1st gen age) marine engine, right? Well, what i'm curious about is my ve is going down hill pretty fast and i'll have to have it rebuilt soon and i've heard that they used a different IP on the marine engine. I've been talking to IP rebuild shops and they all tell me the same thing that my VE will not last long at with the full fuel screw turned up as far as possible. They say it puts to much pressure on the cam and rollers? The shops I talked to said longevity would go downhill significantly after anywhere from 250hp to 300hp. I guess the short side of the question is, which pump did they use on the marine engine and is it a viable option for my first gen engine to make around 400rwhp? sorry about the "longwindyness" of the post.
