Competition marine version or not?

I have noticed some of you run the marine versions of the mallory pump. So what exactly is the difference between the two?

Are you talking about the Bosch P7100? The only reason that I am asking is all of the Cummins Marines Engines that are 5. 9 series that I have seen are using that injector pump. I have two of the 280HP 5. 9 Cummins. After looking up what a mallory pump was my marine engines do not have one. I used the search engine on this site to find the information on the pump.

No I am referring to the pusher pump to feed the VP44 on the newer 24 Valve motors.

TTT, anybody using a marine version pump? If so why?

not sure but from the marine stuff I have been looking at I have not seen a 24 marine eng I may be wrong though George

yes there are some guys who are or have run this pump--there's been talk of it being nothing more than the original Mallory with an anodized cover---longevity to my knowledge hasn't been any better than anything else out there and in some cases much shorter---they seem to burn up the brushes at a quick pace if I remember correctly---maybe some of the guys who use or have used can give us a better update---chris
