Well, this wasn't exactly how I wanted to take the truck off the road... but the Ranger fared a lot worse. Dang it all.....
Long story short (my version), me and TJ are heading South on a busy two-laner - TJ was driving 'cause I just had laservision surgery done (cool stuff). Anyways, we were coming up on an 'open' intersection (no light... yet) and the Ranger owner just couldn't wait for the other 4 cars (heading North and stopped) to make the left turn in front of us, swerved out into our lane and tried to get across before my 7000 lb Ram got there, and we basically nearly blew the bed clean off the Ranger with my right front corner. The Rangers topper landed somewhere in the field on the other side of us, and the Ranger eventually landed on its roof. My Cummins was still running like nothing happened but the radiator and intercooler and about everything else was destroyed. The Rangers frame was completely bent about 1 foot to the left and rear axle was hanging on by threads. The roof was caved in bad and almost all the glass was shattered. The Rnager driver completely admitted fault. We felt the impact but with our mass we basically blew the Ranger clean off the road and skidded to a hault, engine still running...
I think mine is salvagable without being totalled and I'm hoping the frame hasn't shifted. Won't know until insurance is completed and I get her apart. The Ranger owner is lucky he's alive. I'll tell ya folks, mass is good.
Here's some pics.
