Well, I'm at just over 40,000 miles. And I'm going to replace all the oils in the truck. Well all but the power steering. Cooling fluid doesn't count. That will be at 100,000, as well prolly the steering.

Amsoil is it! About $230 worth of stuff will be shipped to my door in a few days

QTY Prod # Desc

1 ELS7349 Oil filter

1 P550430 Fuel Filter

3 15w-40 Diesel Synthetic

6 SVGQT Differential Fluid

5 ATFQT T-Case fluid, universal stuff

6 MTFQT The nv6500 fluid!

And I got an handy little oil pump for $10, g2039

I got one extra quart of t-case and trans fluid, so knock of $12 and if I keep around the pump, another $10.

Do I have my amounts correct? If I have extra, no biggie, I can save it for a few months

Brake fluid?

Maybe when I drop on some massive crossdrilled roters on it and switch it over to DOT5 fluid? Do they make bigger calipers for this truck?

I figured I have about 20,000 more miles on the orignal breaks. then I'll get rims and breaks to match.

The NV-5600 will only take about 4 Qts of MTF-qt. and the T-case will only take about 3 Qts. of ATF. :)

So I suppose the tech that I talked to at AmsOil was already over quoting me one extra on amounts, and when I went to the order girls I upped it one more just in case. heh

ok, less to buy next time around.

I'll check in the AM monday to see if my order was shipped or not.

put some fast coolers on the nv5600 and you will gain some capacity for the extra oil... you can't let it go to waste ya know :-laf

I don't tug things around much. And up here in MN, 70mph in 0 deree temps for 20 miles = COLD. breaks, clutches tend to work SLOW after that. :) I would rather not have my trans cool off anymore then it needs. It does complain alot in the cold for the firs few miles.

Thought about it to. but naw.

it absorbs water really well [and once it does that, it lowers the boiling point bigtime]... not needed unless you are in some sports car/bike application...

DOT 5 is a silicone based brake fluid and doesn't absorb water at all. You just can't use it in a system designed for DOT 3 or DOT 4, and it is very expensive.

Do NOT use DOT 5 brake fluid in any vehicle not designed for its use. It is incompatible with DOT 3/4 and is definitely not recommended.

My personal opinion is that it is a waste of time to flush brake fluid, although it is apparently quite common for places to recommend doing so nowadays. That's just my opinion, and as stated above, DOT 3 and DOT 4 brake fluid sure do absorb quite a bit of water over time so it isn't an entirely bad idea. You can decide for yourself whether it's worth it or not.

Been selling brake fliud flush's for 25 years. Do my own once a year. Over the long haul it has LOTS of benifits. All really hot perfiormace vehicles and exspensive imports its part of a maintance. So his cleaning and lubing caliper slides and pins.
