I have an 06 3500 DRW and the master cylinder has started leaking on the inside of the cab. I believe this to be the boost portion of the system because the brake reservoir level is not dropping. Is there a way to fix it or do I need to replace it? Also are there other years with the same mastercylinder taht I could use?

Thanks

I think that what you'll find is that the hydroboost is leaking, not the master. Wait for one of the tech's to answer your question.

There are many shops that can rebuild a hydro boost unit but because of the nitrogen charged accumulator I would nt recommend it for the DIY guys

I believe you all are correct in that it is the hydroboost that is leaking. Does it seperate from the master cylinder easily? Also would like to know if the 03 unit is the same as an 06? What did you pay for the rebuilt hydroboost?

Thanks in advance.

Separate from the master cylinder easily- yes. The hard part was undoing the nuts inside, under the dash. If you are good at twister, you would be good at this.
03 same as 06? maybe, you would need to call the supplier.
about 170, plus 75 for the core.

When I checked into getting a dealer part, they said the master cylinder had been superceded with the hydroboost and you had to buy both. Very expensive if you go for that option.
