Are Marine Blocks And Heads The Same As Automotive?

When I have my SP diesel box opened all the way my boost gauge maxes out quick at 35 psi so i don't know what the actual boost is. What is the max boost I can pump without lifting the head or blowing a gasket or any other major work. I already have my hand full and my wallet empy.

If SP box connects to the map sensor, it can only read accuratly to low 40s. You should be ok at the levels you are at, I would be more worried about the stock turbo. With my TST and the wastegate mod done to the turbo my plastic intercooler has stayed intact and that is boosting up to 35-37psi. There was an article in the last TDR magazine where they have said the 3G's have better headgaskets and can withstand higher boost pressures, but the headbolts are the weakest point. There are a few guys on here running twins with stock headbolts and consistently hold higher pressures without headgasket problems. Hope this helps.

I agree, I would worry about the stock turbo before the head gasket or bolts. The boxes will let you push the stock turbo way past any usable boost. With the Quad Race Box I could hit 44psi easy on the stock turbo. That is probably not quite high enough to nuke it, but doen't really help it or performance either.

Boost Pressure with SP

The SP Eliminator by itself will now allow for more than 39-42 PSI on it's own. The heads are rated welll beyond that. Our TST stacker tune yields 50PSI plus regularly on our test rig.

This new module sounds exciting for the TST owner looking to add a little pressure, but still be on the safe side. I was unable to attend due to surgery and I could not drive my truck down.

I'm a little surprised that my otherwise stock engine with an Edge Juice/Attitude will alarm and I will see boost levels of 39-40 lbs. This is with the power set on only level 3. Is this normal?

With the Juice/Attitude and stock turbo 36-41psi boost was normal depending on the setting. I don't think I ever saw over 41psi with the standard Juice/Attitude on the stock turbo. This was on the Autometer boost gauge, I never saw the Attitude monitor go over 37-38psi.
