Any thoughts on the max boost an ETH can handle? What about max SUSTAINED boost while towing? Any way to regulate it since EZ does not offer adjustable elbows?

Asking for a friend ;)

Good reading in that thread. My friend ;) sees 35+ WOT and would like to be able limit it to something like 30 or so. Any suggestions on how to do that? Seems like a pressure regulator set at 30 PSI in the wastegate line would do the trick. That way the boost curve would not change only the max boost would. Just screwing with the charge bleed holes in the boost elbow would lower the boost across the whole range it seems.

Texas, your friend ;) needs to adjust the wastegate rather than the elbow or adding a regulator for his max of 30 PSI. By opening the orifice in the elbow you will delay the opening of the wastegate, making max boost higher. If you close the orifice you will bleed less pressure off the wastegate actuator allowing it to open sooner. I kinda doubt you will get enough adjustment out of the elbow. Make the wastegate actuator rod longer a little bit at a time till EGT's get high or you hit the number you are looking for. Hope this helps.

Max Boost

Texas, some folks are using a short turnbuckle and a stiff spring to clamp down the wastegate. The turnbuckle is tightened down to put tension on the spring until the wastegate opens at the desired max boost. This method leaves the boost elbow stock, and just adds more closing pressure to the wastegate arm, requiring higher boost to overcome the extra tension.

If your 'friend' is running only the EZ without any other fuel enhancements, then the boost will self regulate at around 30-32 psi. [at least mine did] If larger injectors are installed then the boost will be higher.

Hope this helps your 'friend'
