I had both pre and post on a switch. The switch was as high a quality as I could find anywhere. Worked fine about 6 months. Then eratic, operated the switch a few times, ok for a while, etc etc etc.
Then I took the post out and permanently soldered the connection to eliminate variances. Seems to be working fine, no variences.
I cool pre turbo down to 300*, then add 1 minute AFTER reaching 300*. The concept is to keep the oil in the turbo from cokeing, and to cool a possibly hot turbo turbine section down further.
What I do is put up the sun screen for the windshield after reaching 300* and the engine is running, get your drink cans, wallet, house keys, and cell phone. Takes about 1 minute, pre is about 250* at that point.
