I would like to increase the tire size on my '02 2500 4X4 quad cab. Current size is 265/75-16. The truck is completely stock with no lift or other suspension mods. Will 315/75-16 fit with no rubbing at full lock? If not, what is the largest size that will fit? Thanks in advance for any info!

I had 2 in spacers on the front of mine and 315s still rubbed. I have 285s now and am happy with them. you may be able to fit 305/70s depending on the offset of wheels.

Stock I would say 285s, and 305 would fit with a bit of trimming. 315s fit with a levelling kit. My tires rub the fender well where the mudflap is a little bit at full turn, but not enough to damage anything.

i've got 315's on my 2000, they rub at full lock on the control arms. i took a heat gun to the middle of the fender wells just to give myself a little more clearance, but it didn't rub when i put them on... figured driving across a field they might hit so i gave myself some extra clearance

Tim

PS a buddy of mine got a different offset rim and claims his 315's don't rub... not sure i believe it though, haven't seen the truck since he swapped

I ran 305/70R16 BFG Mud Terrains without a problem. Only a slight rub on the control arms at full lock.

Hey RBallard, mind if I ask where you got your tires? I'm thinking of going to the Nitto's. Just wondering if someone in our area stocks them.

I didn't have any luck finding someone who carried them. I ordered through Discount Tire and had Jack Williams in Whitehall mount and balance. They charged $25 a tire but offer free rotating and balancing even though they didn't sell me the tires.

Are you going to try Carlisle this year? I am heading down the morning of July 8th, I am already registered for the field.

Talk to you later,

Bob

Thanks for the info. No, I wont be heading down there. I always go to the Bloomsburg show, they're always the same weekend of course. I'm going to try in August for the truck show.
