I'm at 35K on my original tires, with about 5K or less to go. I would like to install the largest tires possible, with no possibility of rubbing. Does anyone know what that might be? 285/75? 285/70? 295/75? etc. Thanks!! It's a 2002 2500 4X4.
I've got 315/75R16's and will get a slight rub at the back of the front wheel well when I hit a bump going over 10MPH and have the wheel turned, like going over a large curb while turning into a parking lot.
Otherwise, stop to stop and over any bump - no rubbing.
I've also got a 2" leveling kit and 16x8 wheels with about 1" of offset over stock. With the stock wheels you may rub at full wheel lock.
Obviously, it depends if it is 2wd or 4wd, 4wd you can do 33x12. 50 with no problem, 305/75 i think is the biggest without rubbing. on a 2wd you will find these are too big.
I have a set of 35/12. 50/17 Procomp xterrains on 17/10 Weld Thypoons with a 2 inch lift in front. but some times they will rub,my truck is 4. 10 ratio.
255/85 on mine. 33 1/2" tall without any rub. They also clear a running board. From what I've read, it's more dependent on getting a tire that's not too wide vs height (within reason) if you don't want them to rub.
I have 285 75 pro comps on mine with the factory wheels. Mine were actually rubbing on the brake lines when I did a full lock turn. I just zip tied a peice of fuel hose over them till I can get some stainless lines.
