I know that this has been discussed many times before but I will ask it again.

What is the max tire size that can be put on a 2500 with stock rims and stock ride height?

I just had a cut in the sidewall of my front tire and had to have it replaced.

I want to install BFG AT/KO 295 75 R16. Can I go any larger? What affects does it have on the truck? the guy at Sears said that they could not be installed because they were not a factory option size and that it would affect the 4wd operation. Other than the speedo change are there any others to be aware of.

I know a lot of people are running these tires. I would appreciate any feedback. Where is the best place to purchase the tires? mail order?

Thanks for the help.

I have BFG all terrains, 285/75/16 on stock rims(cast aluminum). I think I could go to 305/75/16 with no problem. The four wheel drive works fine. The tires fill the gap in the fender and look real cool. You will have to go to a local guy like Winston or big O. They will put on whatever you want. Some guys will even mount up one tire and try it on the front to see if it rubs.

What rear end gearing you running? If its the 354 and you put those tires on you won't be able to get out of your own way.

Tires

I have 315/75R16 with a 2 1/2" Skyjacker kit (rear is stock height). With my 4. 10 gears I can still take off in 3rd gear. I you don't want to lift it then 305/70R16s look great. Sam

295's

I've got 295-75-16 TA's, and they don't rub at all. I've heard rumors that the 305's will rub, and I would be very interested to find that out, as I am in need of replacements. If not I would be very happy to stay with what I have.

I have 315/75R16's and they rubbed just a little. I put on a 2" leveling kit and they are perfect. I also have 3:55 gears and it still pulls great. The RPM's are great on the highway. If you have 4:10's it will be good.
